In a recent steam community update, the developers of the superb city builder, Against The Storm has announced a new project they are working on. Eremite Games has cautioned that what they are sharing is in super early development phase and is not in any way an indication of how the final game will look like.
The teaser is very light on gameplay but does hint at what sort of a game it might be. We see what I assume are two hooded humans, one carrying a gun walking towards a wooden structure. A house? The environment is rainy and dark set in a twisty mysterious forest. Of course this game will be set in the world of Against The Storm so that imagery is par for the course.
While the devs have not revealed exactly what the gameplay will be like, I think the teaser does reveal certain aspect of it… maybe. Remember this is speculation. The human carrying the gun indicates that there will be combat. You will probably defend against whatever monsters that come from the forest.
The wooden house, well considering this is a survival game, which I believe will be more like a survival crafting game. You can build that wooden house. Harvesting the resource in the world to build a defensive fortress, or a cosy home in the dark woods or a hideout.
Also the two humans could be a hint of maybe coop or online aspect of the game? I would take a guess that this would be a game much like the excellent Valheim. You explore the world, harvest, craft and build and fight the monsters…. maybe with a friend or two.
Since this is pretty early stuff there’s no saying when they will share more about it. I would say let them cook and reveal when they have confirmed the exact feature set they want in this game.
