The devs have teased us with an announcement of Veti single player mission demo, now they’ve unveiled the secret that they have indeed been working on an expansion for Tempest Rising. Veti’s Wrath is, you guessed it, an expansion that brings the Veti, the mysterious third faction into the single player campaign of Tempest Rising.
The Veti are a very, Egyptian, robotic sort of faction. Think of them like the Necrons, except they aren’t undead. There are ziggurats, pyramid like structures, robotic scarab looking units.
The devs highlighted that the campaign:
- Features 11 new single-player Campaign missions where you will play as the Veti
- The Veti Faction roster includes: 9 Buildings, 7 Vehicles, 6 Infantry Units, 5 Air Units, 5 Defensive Structures, 5 Specialists, 5 Support Powers, and 1 Superweapon
- The Campaign expansion will be a paid DLC; we will share more information about the release at a later date
- Playing as the Veti in Multiplayer will be FREE for all owners of the Tempest Rising base game. This includes Matchmaking, Custom Games, and Skirmish modes
This is apparently the final chapter in the tempest saga as the Veti seeks to reclaim what was once theirs (like the Necrons). No solid release date has been announced other than a ‘later this year’, SO we won’t have to wait too long for this. It would be interesting to see how much they will be charging for this. I do feel Tempest Rising deserves more attention from RTS fans, I know quite a few that didn’t really click with the game. Veti seems like a slow but powerful sort of faction, can we say, Necron-like? Anywa, do check out the demo which has the first two Veti mission as well as the first two missions of the GDF and Tempest Dynasty.
