Whiskerwood, a city-building strategy game where mice struggle under the rule of their feline overlords, will release into Early Access on November 6, 2025. The game is developed by Minakata Dynamics and published by Hooded Horse. It will be available on Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store, and the Microsoft Store, with PC Game Pass (Game Preview) support from day one.
Players step into the role of guiding industrious mice as they attempt to establish new homes in uncharted lands. The game promises detailed simulations and layered systems, including carving mountains, navigating seas, and expanding into wilderness areas. At its core are complex production chains and automation, all working to keep settlements running smoothly.
But there’s a catch—literally. The mice live under the watchful eye of the Claws, their oppressive cat overlords. Taxes and constant demands from these feline rulers add pressure to the survival and growth of mouse communities. Balancing expansion, efficiency, and subjugation looks to be the central tension of the experience.
For those unwilling to wait until November, a free demo is already live. The demo offers a slice of the early game, where players can construct their first colony and get a feel for how taxation and the looming paw of authority shape progression.
Localization will be broad, with support for German, French, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Czech, Hungarian, Turkish, Ukrainian, Russian, Brazilian Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Korean, and Japanese alongside English. That wide range of translations signals a global push for the title right from launch.
