Urban Games has released the latest entry in its Transport Fever 3 First Look video series, this time highlighting the game’s completely reworked cargo system and industries.
The new video follows up on the previous showcase of the terrain and map generator, which focused on the new sub-arctic environment. This round, the developers put the spotlight on production chains, industry behavior, and how these systems tie into building a functioning transport empire.
According to the studio, industries will now play a much bigger role in shaping networks. Whether it’s supplying food to kick-start the growth of a small settlement or scaling up operations to feed the massive appetite of a capital city, efficiency will be at the center of every logistical decision.
One of the biggest changes comes with the revamped cargo system, where—for the first time—you’ll be in control of every step of the delivery chain. To support this, Transport Fever 3 introduces a set of new tools aimed at squeezing more productivity from your routes. These include warehousing to manage storage and flow, industry boosters to increase output, and specialized loading facilities designed to speed up handling.
The developers note that these mechanics are intended as a foundation, while leaving room for player experimentation. The team expects players to come up with strategies and optimizations that go beyond what they initially designed.
The First Look series is being rolled out ahead of the game’s release to give players an early insight into visuals, mechanics, and design direction. With industries and cargo now in focus, Urban Games is setting the stage for a more intricate approach to transport management than in previous entries.
More videos in the series are expected to follow, each breaking down different core systems of Transport Fever 3 before launch.
