Shiro Games has just dropped Community Update 6 for Wartales, and the headline addition is the introduction of Tier 5 gear—a new level of late-game equipment that brings fresh mechanics and visuals to the battlefield.
Tier 5 gear is crafted using Carmine Tanbark, a resource harvested by Master Woodcutters, and Varmeil, a rare red fabric made by Master Alchemists. The process also involves cloth and plague-ridden samples. New recipes are now available for every gear type—dagger, sword, mace, axe, polearm, cestus, throwing weapons, and shield.
Alongside the gear upgrade, the update introduces a more streamlined notification log. Messages are now grouped, and key alerts can be accessed from a dedicated panel near the quest tab.

For players invested in their mercs’ personal arcs, 44 new confessions and 11 new traits have been added—some unique to specific companions. These bring added depth to party management and storytelling.
On the performance side, the update addresses memory issues and fixes enemy counts in region-locked battles. Players with massive armies (yes, those of you fielding over 70 mercenaries) will benefit from a new setting that limits visible mercs on the world map—though you can toggle it off in the graphics tab if you like seeing your whole horde.
A long list of bug fixes rounds out the update. Crashes during battles, boss fights, and post-load sequences have been addressed. Specific fixes were also applied across multiple DLCs, including Pirates of Belerion, The Pits, The Skelmar Invasion, and The Beast Hunt. Issues such as unreachable enemies, siege spawns inside castles, and stuck quests should now be resolved.
Minor fixes include adjustments to fishing spots, UI glitches, and item comparison features. COOP mode also gets some love with fixes for group icons and quest bugs.
Wartales Community Update 6 is live now. If you’ve been holding out for more reasons to dive back in—or push further into the late game—this might be the push you were waiting for.
