Terminator: Dark Fate – Defiance just got a major shakeup with its latest DLC, Uprising. At the center of the update is Conquest Mode, a sprawling, freeform campaign designed to push players into dynamic, high-stakes decision-making across a living map of 22 strategic sectors.
Unlike the more linear structure of previous missions, Conquest Mode lets players build the Resistance on their own terms. Each playthrough offers a different experience thanks to dynamic AI factions—Legion, Cartel, Integrators, Movement, and Marauders—who all act independently, capturing, defending, and evolving on the map in real time.
The strategic map isn’t just for show. Each of the 22 sectors—four of which are brand new—features a tactical battle map with its own strategic value. Control key sectors and your faction thrives. Lose them, and the dominoes begin to fall. Isolate a region, and the Marauders will come sniffing. And don’t think Legion can be boxed in—they’re persistent and always a threat, regardless of your map control.
Resource management has also been introduced in this mode. Sectors generate daily income, boost storage limits, and impact army upkeep. While your units won’t vanish when supplies run dry, expect reduced effectiveness unless you rearm and plan carefully.
Factions play a major role in this new structure:
- Legion is relentless, capable of deep raids into your sectors.
- Cartel supports the Legion, but their power crumbles if you sever them from key holdings.
- Movement are your allies, but only fully integrate if their key sectors stay protected.
- Integrators remain neutral and offer safe passage, tech trades, and store expansions—if you’re on good terms.
- Marauders start passive but grow into a unified menace known as The One Sun if left unchecked.
Gameplay unfolds in two phases: Planning and Action. Missions come in familiar formats—Assault, Domination, Total Elimination, Convoy Attack, and Capture and Hold—but now exist within a broader context where long-term strategic choices matter.
Whether you’re planning a decisive strike or just trying to hold the line, Conquest Mode reshapes how you play Terminator: Dark Fate – Defiance. No two campaigns are expected to be the same. Just don’t forget—Legion never sleeps.
