Kite Games and Kalypso Media have officially announced Sudden Strike 5, marking the return of the classic World War II real-time strategy series after an eight-year hiatus. The new title will take players back to the European and North African frontlines with a 25-mission campaign.
Sudden Strike 5 features over 300 playable units, including 190 vehicles and 110 infantry types. Players can command iconic machines of war such as the Sherman tank, Soviet T-34, and Messerschmitt Bf 109 fighter. The game emphasizes tactical depth, allowing players to customize their forces and adapt strategies based on mission objectives.
A key addition is the customizable Commander system. Commanders offer special abilities like deployable equipment, enemy disruption tools, and stat boosts such as improved artillery accuracy. This system is designed to give players more control over battlefield tactics.
Sudden Strike 5 will also support custom PvP skirmishes against AI or other players, broadening its appeal to both solo and multiplayer RTS fans.
Closed beta registration is now open via the official website. Selected players will have early access and the chance to provide feedback before the full release. The game is scheduled to launch in 2026. Players can wishlist Sudden Strike 5 on Steam to stay updated.
In the meantime, Sudden Strike 4 is on sale until July 23 for $4.99 or £4.24, with the complete collection available for $12.89 or £10.77. Wishlist Sudden Strike 5 on Steam.
