PQube and Crazy Goat Games have confirmed that Republic of Pirates, the city-builder with real-time naval combat, will release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on September 25, 2025.
Set during the Golden Age of Piracy in the Caribbean, the game puts players in charge of rebuilding a shattered pirate alliance. Starting with a single ship and a small crew, the goal is to avenge your father’s murder and create a sprawling republic across a divided archipelago.
A new Gameplay Overview Trailer has been released, offering a quick breakdown of the mechanics in under three minutes.
Building a Pirate Utopia
Players will construct buildings, expand industries, and satisfy the needs of their citizens to maintain growth. As settlements advance, new workforce tiers unlock, granting access to more complex industries and resources needed to sustain expansion.
Naval Combat and Conquest
Beyond construction, the seas await. Captains can build fleets from different ship classes, each with unique strengths and abilities. Fleets can raid merchants, battle rival crews, and launch assaults on enemy strongholds to claim new islands. Actions carry weight, however—managing alliances and rivalries with pirate crews and national trading companies will be essential to survival. Missions, bounties, and trade deals add another layer to the game’s diplomacy.
Three Ways to Play
Republic of Pirates includes three distinct modes:
- Campaign Mode – A story-driven introduction centered on revenge and learning the core mechanics.
- Free Play Mode – Four handcrafted maps with population-driven progression for a more open approach.
- Custom Map Editor – A flexible toolkit to create bespoke maps, adjust rival factions, and enable sandbox options.
The game is available on Steam.
