News Tower will leave Early Access and launch its full 1.0 version on November 4, 2025, developer Sparrow Night and publisher Twin Sails Interactive have announced. The 1930s newsroom management sim puts players in charge of building a media empire in New York City during the golden age of print.
The 1.0 release will add several major systems:
- Competitor System – Rival papers The Jersey Beacon and The Empire Observer will challenge your influence. Players must choose whether to expand into new territories or confront competitors directly.
- Perception System – Define your editorial style as Informational, Moderate, or Sensational, shaping reader opinion and unlocking sales strategies.
- Faction System – Work with (or against) the Mafia, Military, Mayor, and High Society. Each faction offers missions, rewards, and trade-offs that influence your paper’s trajectory.
- New Building Towers – Two new newsroom layouts: a tall, narrow highrise and a wide, spacious lowrise, each with different costs and space constraints.
- Leaderboards – Compete globally for the title of New York’s top newspaper.
- Additional Languages – Spanish, French, German, Portuguese (Brazil), Polish, and Russian support.
In News Tower, players manage everything from hiring staff and choosing stories to office layout and resource logistics. The game draws on real-world history, weaving events like Prohibition and the Great Depression into its satirical simulation, while factions and characters take cues from figures of the era.
Attendees at Gamescom 2025 can try the 1.0 build early at the Indie Arena Booth from August 20–24. The game can be wishlisted now on Steam, with the Early Access version still available at a discounted price until launch.
