Drone Sector, a tactical gunship command game that fuses close air support with real-time squad management, has found its publisher. MicroProse announced today it will be publishing the title, which has been in development for some time. A free demo is available now on Steam.
Set in a futuristic combat theater, Drone Sector puts players in control of a heavily armed drone gunship, inspired by platforms like the AC-130 and MQ-9 Reaper. From above, players provide overwatch and precision firepower to ground squads as they move through hostile terrain.
The game’s missions are handcrafted and focus on high-stakes objectives—clearing paths, eliminating threats, and ensuring extractions. Strategic choices play a major role, with players deciding whether squads should gather resources and research materials or pull out before being overrun.

Between missions, commanders can research new technology, upgrade their gunship, and customize squads for future operations.
With MicroProse now on board as publisher, Drone Sector is positioned to bring its hybrid of air dominance and ground tactics to a wider audience. The demo is live on Steam for those who want to take the gunship for a spin ahead of launch. Wishlist or try out the demo on Steam.
