After all the battles, wars won, and grueling management sims, here’s something a little more… enchanted. Magic Inn, a cozy tavern management sim with a magical twist, has launched into Early Access today on Steam.
Developed by Purpledoor Studios, Magic Inn puts you in the robes of an exiled wizard trying to make a living as an innkeeper. Instead of flinging fireballs at foes, you’ll be casting spells to clean tables, cook meals, and charm guests. Welcome to hospitality, high fantasy style.
As the wizard-turned-barkeep, your job is to keep the magical mayhem under control—running menus, decorating rooms, hiring staff, and dealing with all sorts of guests, including bandits and ghosts. Happy guests become loyal regulars, and regulars can bring you rare ingredients or join you on expeditions to fetch hard-to-find crafting goods.
Customization plays a big role. Want to please the rowdy mercs crashing through your door? Build a weapon-themed room. Want to make cleaning easier? Cast a spell. There’s even a deck-building system woven into conversation card battles, used to negotiate, persuade, and maybe even flirt your way to better deals.
Also included in this Early Access launch:
- Custom Room Creation – Design rooms tailored to guest types for mood boosts.
- New Utility Spells – Automate chores like lighting candles and clearing plates with magic.
- Card-Based Interactions – Use decks to simulate interactions ranging from charming guests to business negotiations.
Magic Inn is available now on PC via Steam for $14.99, with a 10% discount for a limited time. The Early Access version includes the core gameplay loop, spell systems, and relationship-building mechanics, with more content planned down the line.
So if your idea of downtime includes a little bit of deck-building, a dash of dungeon ingredients, and a whole lot of cozy innkeeping, Magic Inn might be worth a look—just don’t burn the soup with your fireball spell. Check it out on Steam.
