Fractured Alliance, the upcoming real-time strategy game from Dutch indie studio Tense Games, has crossed 35,000 wishlists on Steam. To mark the milestone, the developers have unveiled the game’s third faction: The Collective—an automation-first faction that takes a modern approach to RTS design.
Unlike traditional micro-intensive factions, The Collective is built around AI-driven unit production, hands-off economic systems, and behavior-based commands. Players deploy underground pods—Rifle, Missile, or Anti-Air—that generate autonomous drones capable of acting independently or in formation. Harvesters collect resources automatically, removing the need for constant economic oversight. Combat commands are issued using stances like Force Attack, Defend, and Stockpile.
While beginner-friendly, The Collective isn’t shallow. In the late game, players can unlock Gundam-style mech suits that reintroduce high-control, micro-heavy options for experienced players.
Alongside the faction reveal, Tense Games also introduced new tactical tools for all factions:
- Combat Medic (United Federation) – frontline healing for infantry.
- Mine Drone (The Collective) – deployable explosive traps for area denial.
- Walker Drop (United Federation) – a late-game ability that airlifts two Heavy Siege Walkers into enemy territory.
Fractured Alliance combines traditional RTS mechanics—base building, resource gathering, superweapons, and terrain-based combat—with modern updates like automation, asymmetric factions, and co-op multiplayer. A new snow-covered 2v2 map was teased, showing the game’s focus on tactical positioning and visual variety.
No release date has been announced, but the game is currently planned for 2026. Wishlist numbers suggest strong early interest, and the dev team has confirmed ongoing talks with publishers.
