SEGA and Sports Interactive have officially unveiled Football Manager 2026, marking the series’ return after last year’s cancelled FM25.
Originally intended to be a major overhaul, Football Manager 2025 was shelved following delays tied to its ambitious rebuild. That overhaul now carries over into FM26, which SEGA describes as “our most immersive and visually rich Football Manager experience yet,” promising to take players “closer to the heart of the beautiful game” and expand the series’ storytelling potential.
The game will run on the Unity engine, a move expected to modernise the 3D match engine. While the reveal trailer avoids showing full match gameplay, it offers brief glimpses of in-engine visuals and confirms the inclusion of the official Premier League licence.
No gameplay details or feature lists have been shared yet, but Sports Interactive says more information will be coming soon. For now, fans can only watch the short teaser and speculate on how FM26 will deliver the overhaul promised last year.
