Kalypso Media and Artefacts Studio have officially revealed Disciples: Domination, the next entry in the dark fantasy strategy RPG series, with a planned release sometime in 2026 for PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
Set fifteen years after the events of Disciples: Liberation, the game returns players to the war-torn land of Nevendaar. Queen Avyanna, who once freed the realm from the gods’ tyranny, now finds her rule under siege—both politically and personally. Allies are turning away, the kingdom is crumbling, and her own mind is haunted by visions of becoming the very thing she once fought to destroy.
From her capital city of Yllian, Avyanna must lead armies, recruit companions, and navigate political intrigue while making decisions that shape the fate of the world. These choices will influence her reputation with various factions, affecting alliances, story outcomes, and battlefield dynamics.
On the gameplay front, Disciples: Domination sticks to its turn-based tactical combat roots but promises a faster pace, more dynamic events, and richer player interactions. Battles unfold on grid-based maps where unit synergies, faction abilities, and a new “strengths and weaknesses” system determine the outcome.
Players can recruit and upgrade units from five distinct factions, using their abilities strategically to overcome challenges. Companions play a dual role—offering counsel in political matters and directly joining battles with unique skills.
Outside of combat, exploration takes place in real time. This allows for quest discovery, character interaction, and reward collection, breaking up the tension between battles.
One notable returning element is the Mountain Clans, the dwarven faction from earlier games. Whether they will serve as allies or enemies in Avyanna’s struggle remains a question for players to uncover.
Pricing details have yet to be announced, with more information expected closer to launch. Until then, strategy fans will have to wait to see if Disciples: Domination can deliver on its promise of deep tactical battles and a morally complex narrative when it arrives in 2026. Wishlist on Steam.
