Slitherine and developer Steel Balalaika have shared what’s coming next for Broken Arrow, with a focus on community-requested features, anti-cheat measures, and gameplay balance—all part of an ongoing effort to polish the real-time tactics title.
Following the release of Update 1.08, the team has committed to delivering regular progress updates while doubling down on transparency and player feedback. According to Slitherine’s publishing director Marco Alessandro Minoli, “Our goal remains clear: to continue improving Broken Arrow, refining its features, and engaging with the community.”
Upcoming Features in the Works
Two of the most requested features—surrender options and penalties for rage-quitting—are currently in development. These aim to give teams more control over matches and discourage players from exiting early without officially surrendering.
Cheating remains a top concern, and the anti-cheat system is being reworked to better target offenders. From Patch 1.09 onward, only those cheating outside the solo campaign will face bans. Over 5,000 accounts have already been banned since launch.
Steel Balalaika is expanding its anti-cheat efforts with:
- A new team member managing reports and appeals,
- Improved stat analysis tools for anomaly detection,
- Regular updates to the cheat database.
Additional Improvements on the Horizon
Advanced telemetry tools are also in development, designed to gather player behavior data to support balance tuning and detect irregularities.
Customer support is getting a boost too, with better ticketing systems aimed at faster response times. Questions can now be sent directly to: basupport@slitherine.com.
Faction balancing remains a long-term priority. Upcoming adjustments will be driven by internal tests, player stats, and community input to ensure competitive parity across factions.
Server stability is also being looked at, particularly around the reconnect system. The aim: no more restarting the entire game after a connection drop.
What’s in Patch 1.09?
Here’s what players can expect in the imminent update:
- Balance changes, including reduced efficiency of active protection systems and incendiary damage.
- Updates to make the Russian Coastal Troops specialization more viable.
- Unit tuning to address under- and over-performance.
- Fixes for autocannon angles and vehicle chassis rotation logic.
- New lobby creation window UI for clearer matchmaking options.
- The ability to restart campaign missions and scenarios from the pause menu.
- A broader set of bug fixes, with full patch notes to follow.
