UPDATE: The devs just announced that Fata Deum will be entering early access on September 15th. They’ve also release a release date trailer to mark the occasion.
Fata Deum, a god game heavily inspired by classics like Black & White, is officially heading to Early Access this September. A new trailer has dropped alongside the announcement, giving a clearer look at the game’s morality-driven mechanics and divine tug-of-war.
Set in a living world that reacts to your every whim, Fata Deum lets you play benevolent deity or malevolent overlord. Your goal: gain followers, build influence, and shape the world in your image—either by blessing your people with prosperity or coercing them through terror and bloodshed.
Unlike some older god sims, Fata Deum introduces competition. You won’t just be fiddling with villagers in a vacuum. Other gods—aligned with Violence, Deceit, Fertility, or Pleasure—are very much in the picture, and your growing power will be tested against theirs.
Gameplay is split between day and night. During the day, you manipulate mortals through inspiration or fear, trying to sway their free will. At night, you issue more direct commands—constructing buildings, summoning demons, or sabotaging rival villages.
Mana is the resource that fuels your godly powers, and expanding your divine portfolio allows for more unearthly feats. Whether you’re calling down thunderstrikes, raising temples, or sacrificing your followers to conjure horrors, your choices shape not just the people but the very landscape of your divine domain.
The developers have promised a steady stream of dev updates and gameplay showcases leading up to launch. No exact date yet, but September is locked in for Early Access.
