Paradox Interactive and Triumph Studios have released Archon Prophecy, the newest expansion for Age of Wonders 4, now available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Priced at $24.99 / £20.99 / €24.99—or included in Expansion Pass 2—the update leans heavily into divine empire-building with a mix of new culture, forms, story content, and tactical options.
The standout addition is the Architects culture, letting players construct magical monuments dedicated to chosen affinities, granting both economic and strategic bonuses. Two new forms arrive as well: the radiant Elysian, embodying celestial grace, and the mysterious Ancient, steeped in age and shadow.
Narrative play gets a boost through Prophecy Traits, early-game visions that shape your ruler’s ambitions, with major rewards for fulfilling the foretold path. Two new story realms expand the campaign: Rings of Emnora, a hidden Archon stronghold, and Cliffs of Sordünn, a corrupted coastal land tied to the Umbral Abyss.
Magic and warfare also get fresh tools via four new Tomes—Virtue, Prophecies, Revenant, and Archon—ranging from bolstering righteous armies to summoning celestial allies. The expansion also debuts the Battlesaint, a hero class blending support and tank roles, thriving on sacrifice and virtue.
Additional content includes seven new wildlife units, two mounts, five tracks from composer Michiel van den Bos, and various map and UI updates.
Alongside the paid DLC, all players can download the free Griffon Update, which adds new features and quality-of-life improvements. Full patch notes are available via the official forums.
